Main job responsibilities:

–        Coordinate, organize and monitor the Collection’s Team activity to achieve the collection KPIs and objectives in the shortest possible time

–        Close monitor of the debt collection portfolio

–        Direct collection officers to ensure timely execution of the collection tasks.

–        Recommend appropriate solutions and provide guidance to team for collection cases.  

–        Propose, execute, and timely implement the Company action plan and decisions related to the debt collection portfolio and collection activity.

–        Propose/draft and monitor rescheduling proposal.

–        Organize and monitor the allocation process of the amount collected within the collection activity.

–        Prepare monthly collection reports.

–        Participate in process improvement projects.

–        Negotiate and obtain from debtors, in the limits of the Delegation of Authority in place, payment commitments.

–        Plan and field visit the clients with overdue debts and/or refusing the return of the financed assets

–        Propose and supervise the using of the payment instruments to recover the debts (promissory notes/cheques) held by the Employer, in accordance with internal procedures and decisions of the authorized corporate bodies of the Employer

–        Coordination and improving the collection team’s activity in regard with collecting the debts and proposing the measures to achieve the collection objectives in the shortest possible time.

–        Managing the collection portfolio.

–        Coordination and improving the Collection team’s work in obtaining the necessary documents and information from the former and current clients, guarantors, any other partners for collecting the debts.

–        Organizing, planning, and monitoring the direct reports’ activity

–        To ensure their accuracy, check the IT/evidential system and situations/reports, prepared by the collection officers regarding the outstanding rates,

–        To fill-in and/or, where appropriate, to monitor how to fill-in  the employer’s database and the reports submitted by the collection officers, regarding the status of the debt receivables.

–        Preparing and/or monitoring the activity of drafting notices and summons to clients for amounts due and not paid on time, notices of termination, return of finance assets , etc. and monitoring/coordination of the Collection Team task

–        Verification of the analysis of the files of the former clients and current clients that record back to paying and making proposals for solutions to recover the amounts owed and the assets of the Employer.

–        After obtaining the prior approval, monitoring the negotiation with the former clients of the ways of recovering the amounts due and/or returning the assets to the employer

–        The supervision of the mode of completion and introduction of payment instruments (promissory notes/cheques) held by the Employer, in accordance with internal procedures and decisions of the authorized corporate bodies of the Employer.

–        Preparing the various reports about the stage of the collection activity.

–        Visiting the clients with overdue debts and/or refusing the return of the goods, by request of the management.

–        Precisely the observance of all the rules, regulations, internal procedures of the Employer and oral and/or written instructions (including but not limited to correspondence by email), received from the management

–        Informing the immediate in writing his/her manager about any aspect observed/identified during its daily activity that is unusual or is a violation by the staff of the rules, regulation of the company or legislation in force

–        Cooperation with the other departments of the employer, responding and solving their requests in due time.

Job requirements:

Bachler Degree in economics/Finance

Min 7 years’ experience in collection within 5 years in a financial-banking institution

Min 3 years’ experience in coordinating a team

Technical and business knowledge:

General knowledge of the products and services of the Employer.

Management and techniques of debts recovery and goods.

Legislative knowledge of the companies in Romania.

Knowledge of the Romanian market.

Good command of English in written, speaking and comprehension

Romanian – native

IT: MS Office package.

In accordance with the Authorization of the Manager of the Collection and Recovery Service and /or of the  Collection Coordinator should contact by phone a (former) client fore recovery the debts.​

Registering in the company’s recovery tool the payment orders in accordance with internal procedures and decisions of the authorized employees/managers;

​Drawing up notifications for customers: orders for recovering the amounts due or not paid on time, notifications of termination, return of goods and sending them to clients/former clients/guarantors by email/post, etc.

​Analyze the former clients files and advance to the Collecting Coordinator and/or to the Collecting & Recovery Manager  proposals for solutions in order to recover amounts from (former) clients to the Employer;​

Drawing up the relevant reports on the activities, requested by the Creative Collecting Coordinator and/or Collection & Recovery Manager;​

Archiving all documents/correspondence received in the customer files;

Participating in the elaboration/improvement of internal procedures related to Collection;

Drawing up the situations/reports on recovery of amounts due;

cooperation with the other departments of the employer, responding and solving their requests in good time;

Perform continuous control of the activities carried out;

·       studies: university degree

·       experience requested: minimum 3 years experience preferable in a financial institution on a similar position;

·       at least medium level of English language; Romanian native is mandatory

·       advanced knowledge of MS Office package (Word, Excel, etc.), Charisma

Business Area/Dept Overview

Quantitative models support and underlie many of the most important processes and decision-making functions at the BNP Paribas Group and its entities. Amongst others, market risk, counterparty risk and valuation risk methodologies are developed for both regulatory and internal risk management purposes. The use of these models create model risk for the Group that should be set against the risk appetite of the Group. In order to manage this model risk and to keep its level within the risk appetite, sound model risk management practices shall be applied to the use of these market risk, counterparty risk, valuation risk and insurance risk metrics, and to any new methodology developments within these streams. The RISK IR Risk Methodology Independent Review (RMIR) team is an independent team providing second line of defence (2nd LoD) for the model risk management of the various uses of market risk, counterparty risk, valuation risk and insurance risk models within the Group.

Purpose & Scope of role

The Model Risk Quantitative Analyst position covers the team members who have already gained sufficient model validation experience to be fully autonomous in carrying out model reviews and to coach entry-level team members for the execution of their reviews and/or who can initiate and put through enhancements to the team’s operation.

Model Risk Quantitative Analysts work mostly on independent reviews interacting with the validation managers and with the auditees. The latter usually includes model developers, teams operating the models, and model users. Those stakeholders may be within RISK, within the Business, or within other Group functions.

The scope of the role is global, covering the model risk management of methodologies in scope globally within the Group.

Key Responsibilities of role

  • Appropriate the work plan and review strategy as defined by the validation manager.
  • Analyse and opine on model risk by performing quantitative and qualitative reviews of the selected models.
  • Issue reports and recommendations and advise stakeholders about the conceptual soundness, sound implementation and sound operation of the investigated models.
  • Manage allocated review projects / activities and deliver timely and efficiently.
  • Coach entry-level model risk quantitative analysts. 
  • Proactively take initiatives for internal projects to enhance the team’s operation.

Required hard skills:
  • Strong quantitative background, owning an MSc or PhD degree in a quantitative subject, preferably a degree in financial mathematics.
  • This position requires proven professional experience in alignment with the responsibilities.
  • Advanced knowledge of capital markets: how the markets operate, what the key products are, what the main risk drivers are, and risk neutral valuation of the financial instruments and derivatives.
  • Familiarity with pricing models as well as with market and/or counterparty risk modelling techniques.
  • Strong understanding of stochastic processes and derivatives pricing techniques, familiarity with several underlying asset price models and with various numerical techniques.
  • Advanced programming skills in C++ / C# or other languages allowing fast assessment of model features and carrying out comparison of model alternatives.
  • Experience with model validation techniques and model risk management processes.
